7 Festivals on the Dorset Food Route for Cheese-Lovers
The food scene in Dorset is thriving. And one of the most talked about success stories is Ford Farm, an award-winning traditional farmhouse cheesemaker based in West Dorset.
While their Cheese is so good that it’s now widely stocked in most supermarkets and delis across the UK, Ford Farm is still immensely loyal to its Dorset roots. As such, the team are delighted to announce that they will soon be taking their stand out on the road, armed with various Ford Farm speciality cheeses and stopping off at some of the most prestigious food festivals and country shows in Dorset along the way.
There will be a wide selection of delicious Ford Farm cheeses on offer to the visiting public – from Ford Farm’s ever popular Wookey Hole Cave Aged Cheddar to rugged, mature Coastal Cheddar with its rich flavour and characteristic crunch. Guest flavours, including Smoked Dorset Red, Wensleydale & Cranberry and Truffler, Ford Farm’s handmade cheddar infused with black truffles from Italy, will be introduced. The team will also showcase a number of brand new flavour innovations, fresh from Ford Farm’s development kitchen.
Sian Whitlock, Sales Manager at Ford Farm commented: ‘We are continually researching new trends and incorporating them into our cheeses. Recent developments include our handmade Wensleydale with Gin and Lemon and a Cheddar laced with Sriracha. Often the flavours are still in research and not yet available in the shops, but these local shows give us a great opportunity to test them out and obtain important feedback from the general public.’
