Cave Aged Goats Cheese

A unique cheddar style cheese made from 100% goat’s milk and the only one of its kind to be matured in caves in the UK.

For a unique flavour

Matured in Wookey Hole Caves, Somerset.

Cave Aged Goats Cheese is a deliciously mild, savoury, firm cheese which is similar to a traditional cheddar in texture but with a distinctive yet subtle ‘goat’ flavour. The Cave environment adds yet another dimension to the ageing process. The year round constant 12 degrees centigrade and humidity bestows the cheese with the added benefit of rich, earthy and nutty flavours with caramel top notes.

Artisanal Techniques

Cave Aged Goats Cheese is made using the same artisanal techniques as the Farm’s multi award-winning Cave Aged Cow’s Milk Cheddar using traditional recipes and methods that date back many centuries. The milk is sourced from South West based Bromes Farm, whose herd of 1,200 Toggenburgh and Saanen goats now supply Ford Farm exclusively.

Awards

Despite its infancy, Cave Aged Goats Cheese has already been the recipient of a number of awards.

These include overall Supermarket Champion at the British Cheese Awards, two stars in the Great Taste Awards,  a Gold at the Global Cheese Awards and most recently, Best British Cheese at the World Cheese Awards.
